Bairs Come Visit!

After returning from Idaho, the kids were totally helpful in helping get ready for the Bairs to come visit because they were so darn excited to have more cousins!  I must admit that having Max there to help me push around 2 grocery carts was oh-so-wonderful.  Glad Kyle occasionally has to come work on this side of the mountains, especially in the summer when his family can keep us company.

The first day of their visit we had a few things to work around with activities for the kids.  I would have normally just not bothered with them but because we’d missed so much this summer, decided to have them still attend their dance classes.  Consequently we didn’t go far that day, but we still managed to sneak in a few activities.  We first took them on a the tiny little paved hike at GRCC.  Perfect for little ones!  And the view of Mt. Rainier was particularly great that day!

These lone boys in a family of girls can really commiserate together!

In the afternoon we did a bit of school shopping while Max was at ballroom.  Had to hit up the carousel at the mall while since we were there.

There was lots of this going on while the Bairs were here too:

Hard to tell who’s who from behind isn’t it?  Sadie’s in the purple shirt.

I must say that Jens was the craziest of the drivers! He made that jeep go faster than its ever gone. I didn’t even know it had speeds that fast- tells you how timid my girls are most of the time. He must learn from his papa.

Well the next day we decided it would be fun to take them on a duck tour.  It was supposed to be a beautifully clear day and I thought it would be fun to see lots of the city in a short amount of time.  Plus a bus that transforms into a boat is just plain awesome- at least that’s what I hoped Buzz would say.  And though it was a great idea, I forgot about the little fact that Sea Fair was going on and there would be an intense amount of traffic!  Yuck!  I’m not sure Necia will ever drive into the city with me again.  We made it to our duck just in time, thank goodness!

We snagged these matchy matchy shirts for the girls the day before for 50 cents!

Though the traffic was insane, watching the Blue Angels while on our Duck Tour was pretty awesome!  What a gorgeous day!  Almost worth all the traffic!

Elyse was particularly happy I brought oreos to share!

Like I said, the Blue Angels were amazing to watch!

Since we were right near Seattle Center, we decided to take our guests to the awesome fountain in the shadow of the Space Needle.  It was so scorching hot that day, it felt great for the kids to cool off.

Elyse is just the cutest, isn’t she?

Our attempts at getting a jumping shot:

Love these little monkeys!

We had one last day with the Bairs and decided to head down to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.  First we visited the beautiful gardens a the entrance to the park.

So glad Max can have a taste of what it’s like to have a little brother.

The dahlias are my favorite.  They look like they belong in a Dr. Seuss book to me!

Collecting petals from off the ground.

What a crew!

Next we headed down to Owen Beach.  And though we had beautiful views and it wasn’t too crowded, we were disappointed in that it wasn’t all too warm.  I thought the kids would love to splash in the Puget Sound but instead we had a nice picnic by the water.  Since we didn’t stay too long, I didn’t get a chance to take too many pictures but I did snag this of Natalie and Elyse as we were packing up.

Of course the sun came out later that day…….

So glad to have buddies to play with!  Thanks for coming guys!  Can’t wait to see you next time.
